MAP 12.61.00 Fertilizer

Description

NPK 12-61-00, also known as Mono Ammonium Phosphate (MAP), is a high-phosphorus water-soluble fertilizer primarily used to promote vigorous root development and initiate flowering. Its high phosphorus content (61%) makes it an ideal "starter" nutrient for the early growth and reproductive stages of most crops.Key Agricultural Benefits Enhanced Foliar Absorption: By reducing the surface tension of spray droplets, NIWAs prevent water from "beading up" on waxy leaf surfaces. This allows for uniform spreading and deeper penetration into plant tissues. Improved Irrigation Efficiency: These agents help water penetrate hydrophobic (water-repellent) soils more effectively, ensuring moisture reaches the root zone rather than running off. Increased Chemical Efficacy: They can enhance the effectiveness of herbicides, fungicides, and insecticides by 30-40%, potentially allowing for reduced chemical dosages. Broad Compatibility: Their lack of electrical charge means they do not react with other ions in water, preventing the formation of precipitates even in hard water or across varying pH levels. Low Phytotoxicity: Generally, non-ionic agents are considered milder and safer for plant tissues compared to anionic alternatives, which can be more toxic to roots. Key Plant Benefits Enhanced Root Growth: Stimulates deeper and stronger root systems, which improves the plant's ability to absorb water and other nutrients. Flower & Fruit Induction: Triggers faster flower initiation and improves the size and color of flowers and fruits. Energy Transfer (ATP): Phosphorus fuels critical biological processes like photosynthesis and cell division by supporting ATP formation. Seed Germination: Aids in achieving higher germination rates and rapid early-stage crop growth. Disease Resistance: Increases overall plant vigor and resilience, helping crops better withstand environmental stress and diseases. Acidifying Effect: Naturally lowers the pH in the root zone, which can improve the availability of phosphorus and other micronutrients in neutral or alkaline soils. Application Guidelines Foliar Spray: Typically used at a dosage of 2-3 grams per litre of water. It is best applied 30-40 days after sowing or before the flowering stage. Drip Irrigation: Recommended dosage is usually 1-2 kg per acre. Root Treatment: Can be used as a root dip by mixing 10 grams per litre of water. Compatibility: MAP can be mixed with most water-soluble fertilizers but should not be mixed with calcium or magnesium fertilizers, as it may cause precipitation.
