What is Ampicillin? Ampicillin works by fighting bacteria in the body to treat infections. The active ingredient Ampicillin belongs to a class of medications called penicillin antibiotics. The medication can be used to treat bacterial infections such as E. coli, salmonella, gonorrhea, pneumonia, bronchitis as well as bladder, skin, lung, ear and urinary tract infections. The capsules can be used to treat bacterial infections but cannot be used to treat viral infections such as the common cold or flu.How is it used?
