In Indian architecture, a Wooden Door Chokhat (door frame) is the structural foundation that secures a door to the wall masonry. Traditionally crafted from durable hardwoods like Teak, Sheesham, or Sal, it consists of two vertical "jambs" and a horizontal "head." Beyond providing a mounting point for hinges, a high-quality Chokhat ensures the door remains perfectly aligned, preventing sagging or sticking over time.
