Chair Plate

A chair plate (also known as a seat plate or mechanism) is the heavy-duty metal interface that connects the chair's seat to the base. It is the "brain" of the chair, housing the levers and springs that control height, tilt, and tension. If your chair is leaning to one side, wobbling, or won't stay at the correct height, the chair plate is usually the component that needs attention.
